Aesthetic and Functional
Labiaplasty

International textbook by Prof. Stefan Gress, published in January 2018 by Springer Verlag

The demand for corrective surgery in the female genital area has increased significantly worldwide in recent years. Prof. Gress has specialized in female intimate surgery for more than 20 years and has developed and published many surgical procedures for labia reduction, labia reconstruction and the restoration or increase of female sexual stimulation. Prof. Gress published the technique of “Composite Reduction Labiaplasty” in the renowned international journal for plastic surgery “Aesthetic Plastic Surgery”, Springer Verlag, 2013. In 2016, Prof. Gress was invited by Springer Verlag to compile an international textbook describing his surgical techniques and treatment procedures. He gladly accepted this invitation and honor. The book was completed and published in January 2018. It has been available worldwide since then and serves as a textbook for colleagues in plastic surgery and gynecology.

In terms of content, after an introduction to the subject and a compilation of the anatomical basics, this specialist book first offers the various surgical techniques for reducing the size of the inner labia, as well as the maximum variant, Composite Reduction Labiaplasty, a technique that also enables the correction of a clitoris that protrudes far (clitoral protrusion). Information on the preparation for the operation and aftercare, as well as possible risks, are also described. The book is also illustrated throughout with computer-animated illustrations and real images.

In another chapter there are alternative surgical techniques by other authors.

Prof. Gress then goes into reconstruction procedures for the restoration of the inner labia. This chapter takes on a sadly explosive nature, as more and more women are being almost mutilated by improper operations, especially on the inner labia.

The other chapters deal with correction procedures on the outer labia, tightening the outer labia and tissue filling by injecting the body’s own fatty tissue (lipostructure).

In the last chapter, Prof. Gress discusses the options for correcting the mons pubis. This mainly involves tightening the mons pubis with volume reduction through liposuction.

All relevant plastic surgery procedures in the external female genital area are covered in 120 pages. The book is available worldwide and will enjoy increasing sales as the number of procedures in the female intimate region continues to rise.
